Prototype Ceiling Lamp
1958
White painted metal and brass. Designed as a prototype for the eventual ceiling lamp installed in the home of art dealer Louis Carré. Aalto designed the entire home and its interior for Carré and was his only French commission.
Provenance:
Viljo Hirvonen. Founder in 1952 of Valaistustyö Ky, the company responsible for the manufacture of Aalto's metal work including all of his early production lighting pieces.
