Stockholm City Library is internationally regarded as one of the finest examples of Scandinavian 1920s Swedish Grace architecture. Gunnar Asplund's masterpiece is one of the few Swedish construction works of the time mentioned in international contexts. Asplund designed several chairs for the interior, and these examples remained in the large central area of the library until the 1990's when they were deaccessioned.
