Aino Aalto


Aino Aalto (1894–1949) was a pioneering Finnish architect and designer, celebrated for her profound impact on 20th-century Scandinavian design. Alongside her husband, Alvar Aalto, she co-founded Artek, a company renowned for innovative furniture and glassware. Aino's most acclaimed works include the functional yet elegant "Aalto Glassware," originally designed for the Savoy Restaurant in 1936, and the stackable birch "Aino Aalto Chair." Her designs are distinguished by their simplicity, functionality, and use of natural materials, epitomizing the ideals of modernism.
