History:
Completed in 1901 for Pohjola Insurance Company, the Helsinki headquarters by Gesellius, Lindgren & Saarinen combined modern technology with Finnish National Romantic design. Its soapstone and granite façade is richly carved with animals, pine motifs, and mythological creatures inspired by the Kalevala.
