Villa 49, Stockholm Exhibition 1930
Purchased by Justus Zederman, the builder of the exhibition.

History:
The housing department at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, consisting of nine residential buildings, was created as the result of a housing competition held in preparation for the exhibition. The participating architects not only designed the houses themselves but, in many cases, also the furniture within them. Villa 49, designed by Sven Markelius, was intended for a family of three to four with an annual income of 6,500–12,000 SEK. Its layout was straightforward and functional: one wing contained the living room, kitchen, and dining alcove, while the other housed the bedrooms, bathroom, and wardrobe wall. The living room conveyed a distinctly modern and airy impression. It featured a piano by Markelius and Mogen Mogensen, modernist ryam rugs by Ingegerd Torhamn, and an adjustable Triplex lamp suspended above the desk. All furniture and fittings were produced by Nordiska Kompaniet.
