Aiiro, in collaboration with Claesson Koivisto Rune

Feb 5 - March 29

'American Foundation' Desk. Designed by Arne Jacobsen. Produced by Rud. Rasmussen. 1952. Steel tubular frame, "shoes” of black lacquered wood. Top and moveable tray covered with original black leather. Blue lacquered wood drawers. Provenance: friend of Arne Jacobsen.

‘Aiiro’, curated by architects Claesson Koivisto Rune in collaboration with Jackson Design, draws inspiration from a striking blue carpet by Astrid Sampe, which became both the starting point and guiding principle for the exhibition. Mårten, Eero, and Ola selected objects from Jacksons collection created by renowned designers—pieces that, while crafted by familiar names, are perhaps lesser known or unexpected in their designs. The result is an exhibition that invites visitors to delve deeper into the world of iconic architects and designers, uncovering and celebrating their stories and artistry.

Aiiro is a Japanese term that in English translates to indigo – a darker shade of blue that is one of the seven defined colours in the rainbow. In Japan aiiro is often used in the context of crafts, such as textiles.

Open from February 5 – March 29, from Wednesday to Friday, 12:30pm to 5.30pm, Saturday, 12pm to 4pm, at Jackson Design, Sibyllegatan 53, Stockholm.
