Rakel Callander


Rakel Callander (1918–1991) was a Swedish textile designer recognized for her modern and bold patterns, which left a distinctive mark on Scandinavian textile design. Working primarily with the renowned Swedish textile company Almedahls, she produced vibrant, imaginative designs in the 1950s and 1960s, such as the iconic "Sill" (Herring) pattern, which remains a beloved classic. Callander's designs showcased her playful yet refined aesthetic, often reflecting traditional Scandinavian motifs with a contemporary twist.
