Lillian Holm

1896-1979

Lillian Holm (1896-1979) was a Swedish textile artist. She worked at the workshop of Märta Måås-Fjetterström, after which she moved to America to work at the Kingswood School Cranbrook. During her time in Amsierca she introduced some of the innovative weaving techniques developed at Swedish studios. Following, she became a weaver at Studio Loja Saarinen. She contributed to many of the works Eliel and Loja Saarinen designed, for example a tapestry for the Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana. The work is considered one of the largest tapestries at the time.
