Kaija Aarikka


Kaija Aarikka (1929–2014) was a Finnish designer whose distinctive approach to design was characterized by a playful use of organic forms and natural materials, especially wood. Aarikka's career was marked by the foundation of her own company, Aarikka, which became famous for its unique jewelry and home accessories. Among her most celebrated works are the "Pässi" (ram) series of wooden sculptures and the "Pallukka" bead necklaces, both exemplifying her innovative use of shape and material.
