Hertha Hillfon


Hertha Hillfon (1921-2013) was a trailblazer in Swedish ceramic sculpture, whose debut at Galleri Artek in Stockholm in 1959 heralded a new era in the field, moving towards a more free, sculptural approach to ceramics. Recognized for her profound influence on the art, Hillfon's works are characterized by their unique, expressive forms, often drawing from nature and imbued with a deeply personal touch. Her works are held in high esteem and are part of collections in notable institutions such as the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, among others internationally. Hillfon's artistry extends to public works, including notable sculptures and reliefs across Sweden.
