Helen König Scavini

1886-1974

Elena (Helen) König Scavini (1886-1974) was an Italian ceramic artist, mostly known for her ceramic dolls produced by Lenci. The brand Ars Lenci was founded in Turin, 1919, by Ernesto and Helen König Scavini, who blended an eye for commerce with a sensibility for decorative art. They started with making felt dolls, and later diversified into ceramics. These dolls were shown at many international exhibitions, such as the International Exhibition in Turin, in 1928.
