Greta Skogster

1900-1994

Greta Skogster (1900-1994) was a Finnish textile artist, best known as a prominent designer of the 1930s and 1940s. She started her first weaving and textile design business in 1921, which she ran for over half a century. Skogster is particularly known for her complex, large-scale design projects for public buildings, churches, headquarters and such like. She worked, among others, together with Alvar Aalto on furnitures for a large passenger ships.
