Elna Kiljander


Elna Kiljander (1889–1970) was a Finnish interior architect and designer recognized for her pivotal role in bringing functionalist design principles to Finland. She founded her interior design office in the 1930s and became known for her streamlined furniture, textiles, and interiors that harmoniously merged functionality with aesthetics. Her "K-tuoli" armchair and distinctive rattan furniture showcased her innovative use of materials and minimalist forms, leaving an enduring impact on Finnish modernist design and its focus on simplicity and practicality.
