Le Corbusier planned and designed the city of Chandigarh in India in the 1950s . The armchair was part of Urban von Feilitzens residence in Chandigarh when he worked at Swedish Match during the 1950s and 1960s. He moved home during the 1960s and the armchair was passed down within the family. The model is similar to Le Corbusier , Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeannarets " Grand Confort " which was designed in 1928.
